Here is an idea of what I am seeing versus what Gage is seeing! The weather has been unbelievable and the apartment is great. Annie and Gage are running all over the place and seem to have adjusted quite well-- I am very impressed :) The people are nice and we are really liking walking around to the markets. The place we are staying at is NOT in Funchal, which is actually really nice. We can swim off our front porch steps (3 floors down)-- and watch a little old German guy in a speedo do so every morning ;) Also, besides one incident that involved a wounded duck, the loss of my passport, and an early morning rock climbing incident, all has been well! (explanation: while trying to feed the hurt duck by throwing bread to it off the 3rd floor balcony, I dropped my passport over the edge. It went flying, so I went climbing! Luckily, Annie spotted it from above (thank goodness the French put that fluorescent orange sticker on the back!), and I was able to recover it :) Phew).
Heading to the hotel pool (sneaking in) this afternoon. I will let you know how it works out! Gage REALLY wanted to go swimming yesterday...
PS- the pictures off the balcony were taken at dusk...about 9pm...it was not a cloudy day!!!

I'm glad someone is posting pictures of the trip. =) Though, I'm sure we'll see a blog-full when Annie gets back.
Oh-- it is SO not annie's fault...we have no internet at the apartment...we go to the roof and HOPE the wind is blowing in the right direction to get us a really weak signal! She is taking TONS of pictures though :)
