Too much travel!

OK- So I have been pretty bad at posting lately...but have really only been home for 48 hours in the last two weeks! So...I will work on getting some pictures up this weekend. I won't go into the details, but work has me away from home this month more than ever before and I am getting pretty tired of it! I am headed home this morning though and can't wait to see everyone!

Update: back in Barrow and Ken, Gage and I went out to a Barrow Youth Hockey fund raiser tonight. It was fun and we ate and listened to country music (live!)-- Gage enjoyed it and the food! It was hilarious-- he really liked the lasagna but really really liked the pumpkin cheesecake. Annie (our daycare provider) has been teaching him signing and after I gave him a small bite of cheesecake, he bagan frantically waving his arms and doing the signfor "more" over and over again (rapid fire!). He REALLY liked it! Here are a few pictures from tonight. The band is in the background but they are too dark to see....Gage was rocking out! I head back out tomorrow night, so it will be up to Ken to post something during the week :)

Gage's first birthday

Here are a few pictures from Gage's birthday party. He got lots of fun toys and ate some cake (and buzzed around for hours afterwards!) It is really a trip to think about what was happening exactly one year ago today!
PS- I will get better pictures up soon...I do not have Mar and Lar's good ones yet!

Vacation in Anchorage

We are having a nice weekend in Anchorage with Mar and Lar up visiting for Gage's birthday. Not much going on -- Lar and Mar are just hanging out with their grandson. Just thought I would post some pictures of Gage after his bath today- he was sucking on his toe...something he hasn't done in months!

Gage Eats and a New Van!

Here is a short video of Gage eating...not too exciting, but... (he ate a whole container of yogurt after this movie...I spared you...).
Van pictures soon...we are just about to leave to go get it! It is minus 21 today (w/out windchill) so we will see if we can get it started! Then class then a lot of caribou to process! Update: the van did start but would not stay running. We think the battery heater was off, so Ken took the batttery home to warm up (plus, it was <-21 degrees out...so maybe some warmer weather will help). The 4WD wouldn't start so maybe we are lucky to get the 2WD van!

Gage is cruisin'!

Here is a video of Gage "cruising" along in the living room :) Busy week, but it is Friday and I have 4 caribou to cut up :) Big plans for the weekend include sausage and a watercolor class. Gage is back to his normal schedule and FINALLY slept through the night again (the vacation really got him off schedule!)

Oh! Big News Flash! Ken won a van! Not the 4WD one he wanted, but a 2WD one...Picture soon!

Eddie Munster 'Do

OK, so it was another quiet day up here in the frozen north...big fun was the delivery of our new connex. Finally-- storage space! Gage got a nice bath and emerged with a pretty interesting hair do. Gage got an "Elmo Live" in the mail today and was checking it out this evening (along with the cat (who liked the box) and the dog (who looked like she didn't trust Elmo one bit).

Favorite block

This one is for Lara and Gay...it was early morning on New Year's Day, so it is a bit dark and blurry, but he was running around with the block in his mouth, so I got a pic! When Lara and I saw these in the store, we both remarked on the "interesting" blocks in this wonderful Haba block set... When he got this present, he focused right in on these blocks! I had to laugh...
Happy New Year everyone!

Here are the blocks in question!
